The family is sad to announce the passing of Vasant S. Shah, father, grandfather, son, husband, uncle and friend to so many throughout his life. He was born in Modasa, India in January 27, 1942 and passed at the young age of 80, peacefully in Plainsboro, NJ.

Vasant was a pillar and patriarch for his family. He immigrated to the US in the early 1970s to help with a shortage of professional health care workers. Not long after, his entrepreneurial spirit took over and he became the owner of small pharmacies serving communities in Manhattan and Long Island. His professional success was only exceeded by his personal achievements.

A generous and loving trailblazer, Vasant aided many, many family members in achieving the American dream. He loved being around others- especially his family and friends and his happiest moments revolved around them. He was a well traveled and worldly gentleman but most proud of his 4 grandchildren. He was very devout, prayed daily and went to mandir frequently. He will be celebrated as a template for a life well lived.

Vasant is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Kokila, son Samir, daughter Rina, daughter-in-law Rupal, son-in-law Gopi and their 4 grandchildren-Priya, Anjali, Lakshmi and Arjun. Survived by his brothers-Pravin, Krishnajivan, Kunjibihari, sister-Vanlila Nephews-Sunil, Manoj, Sanjay, Sandip, Bhavesh, Vrandavan, Atul, Raju, Ashwin, Late Shri Abhai, Late Shri Jitu Bhai, Nieces-Varsha, Nita, Priti, Raji, Asha, Varsha, Dipti, Hema, Bhavana, Sangita, Sandhya, Gita,Nayna, Purnima, Kalpana, Manisha, Mamta and Sunita. Vasant is predeceased by the Late Sankalchand Shah-his father and Late Narmada Shah-his mother.

Funeral services for Vasant Shah will take place Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 9-11am at Franklin Memorial Park. Franklin Memorial Park is located at 1800 Route 27 in North Brunswick, NJ.
