It is with deep regret we inform you that our beloved Amma passed away peacefully in her sleep this morning on 9/9/22. Amma, Vidyawati Pawar, was born on December 25, 1930 in Kanpur, India and grew up in Mumbai. She was the oldest in her family and was very respected and revered because she was very accommodating of everyone. On face value she accepted the limited opportunities for women at the time but rebelled in her own way by making sure, all her children, whether they were boy or girl, were treated equally. Amma was kind, respectful and loving and her children describe her as a tough but loving mother who would go to the ends of the earth for them.
Amma loved reading, especially books by the author Premchand, the novel Nirmala being one of her favorites, enjoyed watching movies based on social issues and cooking, especially for her kids. Before she got married, she enjoyed doing embroidery.
She is survived by her husband, Hari Har, and they completed 76 years of her marriage this year. In addition, she has 4 children, daughter Shashi, married to Aditya Saharia and their two kids, son Gaurav and daughter Deepa; son Prakash married to Santosh and their kids daughter Naya and son Rohan; son Shekhar married to Reena and their kids daughter Esha and son Arjun; son Avinash and wife Radhika and their kids daughter Anya and son Arnav.
Funeral services for Vidyawati Pawar will take place Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 12-2pm at Asian Indian Funeral Service. Asian Indian Funeral Service is located at 75 Woodbridge Ave, Highland Park, NJ 08904. Cremation will follow.
